After going to the effort to shoot photographs I often arrived at the question, " Now what do I do with them"? This site will provide an outlet for some of those photographs, and perhaps generate other questions along the way. Jim Staub

Our family almost grew up amongst the rocks at Joshua Tree National Monument ( later, National Park ) about 130 miles east of our suburban city of Monterey Park. A vacation destination since the early 1960s, we the kids generally referred to the location as, "The Rocks". Scrambled upon, climbed and settled in the cool under side shadows in the heat of the day, we lived this desert for short vacations. With camera, I returned in later year to exam the rocks for their form and light, and the sentiment they exerted upon me.

Part 5 - A selection of my photos influenced by some of the great 'street' photographers.
This brief sampling is from a series of photos taking from bicycles and cars. These images are from 1981 to 1995. Manual film cameras, no motor-drives, no auto-focus - simplified down to the bare camera and minor events / no events taking place within camera range while riding a bike, or sitting passenger in a car.
