After going to the effort to shoot photographs I often arrived at the question, " Now what do I do with them"? This site will provide an outlet for some of those photographs, and perhaps generate other questions along the way. Jim Staub
Gale, I set my camera up to indicate clipped over exposure. Areas where there are no pixels "flash" on my LCD screen, and that would be the case with the sliver of moon here. So I did a trial exposure and found my exposure with the moon just flashing a few pixels of pure white but not the entire moon. If you can, wait for the moon to be slightly shrouded by clouds. This helps even out the extreme brightness range found in most sky/moon scapes. There's also a bit of adjustment in Photoshop with levels and "recovery". Good to hear from you, Gale! Jim
How do you keep the sky & moon from "fooling camera ' s exposure meter?
